Kids need angels like you!
Camp Quality is a summer camp as well as a year-round support program for children diagnosed with cancer. Many challenges face a child, and their family, when battling cancer. Camp Quality kids find themselves with a smile on their face and a glow in their heart as they are able to able to act as “normal kids” and do more than they dreamed possible as well as gain hope for the future.
Camp Quality has built a reputation for personalized care. Each camper is paired with a companion dedicated completely to his or her care and well being.. Their primary responsibility is to make sure their camper has the most enjoyable, safe, relaxing and restorative experience possible. This relationship creates a deep bond that continues long after camp is over for years to come.
Camp Quality Northwest Missouri is a non-profit organization, ran totally by volunteers. Kay Jensen of Barnard, Missouri, originally brought the inspiration for this type of camp to Northwest Missouri after experiencing a similar camp during a visit to Australia. In 1986, Kay, along with a host of volunteers and various monetary donators held the first Camp Quality in the United States. Camp Quality Northwest Missouri has continued to be held annually in June near Stewartsville, Missouri, and has grown from 43 campers in 1986 to 104 campers in 2005, illustrating the need that truly exists.
Camp Quality Northwest Missouri is the oldest and largest of all Camp Quality camps today, still serving its goal of letting kids with cancer be kids again. For further information, go to the web at http://www.campqualitynwmo.org/ .
